Mandate:
FONOM's mandate is: "to work together for the betterment of municipal government in Northern Ontario and to strive for improved legislation respecting local government in the north."
On May 11, 2007, the FONOM Board of Directors announced to the membership that the proposed new mandate for FONOM is:
"FONOM is the voice for the people of Northeastern Ontario communities.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all citizens and to ensure the future of our youth."
FONOM is a membership-based association that draws its members from northeastern Ontario and the districts listed below.
